Excel Modular was approached by Royal Harwich Yacht Club to provide a bespoke modular building solution that would create much-needed additional training space while complementing the character and appearance of the existing club facilities.
Excel was initially approached to supply two linked jackleg cabins; however, following several design proposals, the client ultimately selected a purpose-built modular complex for their new offices in Darlington.
The client first reached out to Excel in 2024 with only minimal details confirmed. At the time, we didn’t know which artist was involved—only that it would be a short-term hire for a concert taking place in Hull.

In April 2024, a brand new Timber clad cabin measuring 32′ x 10′ (9.6m x 3m) was delivered and installed. It was lifted into position using a Hiab articulated vehicle (lorry with an on board crane) and placed onto concrete pavers.
A site visit was conducted which allowed us to assess the clients requirements and understand any onsite constriants. Whilst on site they also asked us to evaluate the removal of two unused buildings.
