New Bakery Building for Bents Garden Centre

The project involved the design, manufacture and installation of a four-bay, Plastisol-clad modular building for Bents Garden Centre, providing a space for its new bakery, complete with a specialist air extraction system for the ovens.

The Challenge

As Bents Garden Centre continued to expand its business, additional space was required to accommodate a new bakery and support the growing needs of the garden and home centre.

The key challenge was to install a new modular building within a tight, confined space while meeting the client's operational requirements. The project also required an air extraction system to support the bakery's ovens, ensuring the facility was equipped for its intended use.

With discussions ongoing since September 2025, the project required careful planning and coordination before the order was placed in June 2026, paving the way for the building to be delivered and completed to the client's timescales.

The Solution

Working closely with Bents Garden Centre, Excel Modular designed and manufactured a bespoke four-bay, Plastisol-clad modular building, measuring 12.6m x 9m, tailored to accommodate the new bakery.

The building was designed to make effective use of the available space, with installation carried out within the site's tight confines to meet the client's specific requirements.

In addition to supplying and installing the modular building, Excel Modular was also tasked with installing an air extraction system for the bakery's ovens. This provided an integrated solution, ensuring the new facility was equipped to support the bakery's day-to-day operations.

The building was delivered on 1st September 2026, with installation and completion achieved by 24th September 2026. Through careful planning and coordination, Excel Modular delivered a practical, purpose-built facility to support Bents Garden Centre's continued expansion.

The Result

The new modular bakery provides Bents Garden Centre with dedicated space to support its expanding business, combining a durable Plastisol-clad exterior with a layout designed around the client's operational needs.

By delivering both the modular building and the associated oven extraction system, Excel Modular provided a tailored solution that maximised the use of the available site while helping the garden and home centre prepare for its next stage of growth.
